This Privacy Policy explains how Conus Enterprises LLC ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you visit DocMergeStudio.com, register for Doc Merge Studio, use its Windows desktop application, purchase a subscription, or contact our support team.
1. Information We Collect
Depending on how you use Doc Merge Studio, we may collect the following categories of information:
- Information you provide: email address, account details, sign-in credentials, and communications you send to support.
- Account and license records: free-trial start and expiration dates, subscription status, purchase references, and device or license identifiers used to manage software access.
- Payment information: billing and transaction details processed by payment providers such as Stripe. Payment-card details entered at checkout are processed by the payment provider, not by a card-entry form on our website.
- Technical information: IP address, browser and device characteristics, diagnostic or server logs, and information necessary to maintain security and validate a license.
- Support materials: any documents, screenshots, or other files you choose to send to us when requesting assistance.
Doc Merge Studio is a desktop document-creation tool. You do not need to provide the contents of your documents to us to sign up for a trial or subscription. If you send files to support, their contents may be included in the information we receive.
2. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- create and maintain accounts and authenticate sign-ins;
- provide the free trial, validate subscriptions, and enforce device limits;
- process purchases and manage billing and cancellations;
- respond to technical support, privacy, or account requests;
- maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the website and software; and
- help prevent fraud, unauthorized access, and misuse, and meet legal obligations.
3. Cookies, Analytics, and Do Not Track
Our website and service providers may use cookies, similar technologies, and server logs for essential functionality, security, and to understand how the website performs. Browser settings may allow you to block or remove cookies, although some features may not function as expected.
Our website does not currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals as a separate control. We will honor legally required privacy preference signals where applicable. We do not use third-party advertising trackers on the current website. Third-party hosting or payment providers may collect technical information when you use their services, as described in their respective privacy policies.
4. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with service providers that help us operate Doc Merge Studio, such as:
- Stripe: subscription and payment processing;
- Supabase: account and licensing data services;
- Render: application backend hosting;
- Cloudflare: website delivery and security; and
- Communications providers: responding to support inquiries and sending service-related messages.
We may also disclose information where required by law, to protect rights and security, or in connection with a lawful business transfer. Providers handle information according to their applicable agreements and privacy policies.
5. Data Security and Retention
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures intended to safeguard the information we process. No online service or software system can guarantee complete security.
We retain account, licensing, transaction, and support information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide services, meet legal or accounting requirements, resolve disputes, and prevent abuse. Retention may vary depending on the type of record and why it is needed.
6. Your Privacy Rights
You may contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information associated with your account. We may need to verify your identity and may retain information when permitted or required by law.
California residents may have additional rights under applicable California privacy laws, including rights to know, correct, or delete certain information and rights related to sale or sharing where those laws apply to our business. We will not discriminate against anyone for exercising applicable privacy rights.
Send requests to support@conusent.com.
7. Children’s Privacy
